POE GIANT 12 Cranes
Salvage and Wreck Removal
OVERDICK engineered the minimal number of cut lines that were required to be made by explosives in order to collapse two bulk unloading cranes away from Horsburgh Lighthouse and into the water.
The finite element model and preliminary results were available within 24 hours of the first call. A final engineering report, required by the Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) before permission to use explosives would be granted, was issued in less than five calendar days. A faster response was not possible.
The RESOLVE crew worked together with explosives experts to conduct a controlled demolition of cranes onboard the barge POE GIANT 12.
